You don’t have to be an Olympian to go for gold.
I have never really been into sports (no surprise there!), but something about the Olympic games always excited me. From the opening ceremony where we witness the parade of nations to the unbridled passion of supportive fans and seeing athletes from all over the world - who in their own right are already champions - is a sight to behold.
Most of the athletes are not just there to win a gold medal, but also desire to intentionally break records, set new precedents, and be the ultimate best at what they do. I wonder how many of us (non-athletes) operate in that same mindset.
Thanks to the lessons from my Dad, I learned that regardless of the work put in front of me - be it hard, boring, or easy, I must do my very best to do my very best. Breaking barriers and reaching for gold is a tough gig, but like with most good things in life……it is only a possibility away. Represent yourself, Olympian!■
