Small flowers, big beauty, enormous adventures.
Most inner cities in the nation have a botanical garden. It gives those of us living in cramped spaces and breathing in the same air, an opportunity to escape to a beautiful oasis.
I consider myself blessed that I only need to take a few steps outside my backdoor to see some lovely flowers and plants, having a little reprieve from staring at a computer screen for over 8 hours.
So many of us can see the blessing of the shutdown, in that it made us appreciate what we already had and neglected for so long. Like the message of the children’s program The Backyardigans - when you have a big imagination and no place to go, you can’t help but create an adventure, if even just in your mind. ■
