welcome to emerald city
Life can be comical, so laugh and keep on moving.
Last week marked 82 years since the release of the classic movie, The Wizard of Oz. When I first watched the film, I was riveted. I was quite young then and did not fully understand every detail of each scene, but for the most part I understood that there was a little girl who was lost and wanted to find her way back home.
That was enough for me to relate to the main character of Dorothy, who along the way met some unique friends who were dealing with their own insecurities and hang-ups and sought out the help of a wizard to fix their issues.
So much in this movie mirrors our lives. We are on this yellow brick road, trying to stay the course, but are deviated from time to time. But in the end, if we keep our eyes on the prize, we will get to where we desire the most and even better, positively touch the lives of those we meet on the way. ■
