new year revolution
there is no power without pain; no flowers without rain.
At the start of each year, we come up with a list of things we wish to change that no longer serve us and what we want to improve. From eating right to exercising to writing books, the list of “hope-to’s” goes on.
For quite sometime, I stopped making New Year resolutions because a few months into my personal promises, I would grow tired and stop. This felt like a setback and more discouraging than anything. I shifted the approach - notice how just by living the best you can each day, God sets you where you need to be and you are resolute in growing whether or not you think you can.
There is pain in the process, as constant stretching, pulling, and tearing away is necessary for growth. However, if we stand firm in not just where we want to be in the future, but HOW we want to be in the future, our resolutions become revolutions.■
