life’s a beach sometimes
Make a splash and catch a wave.
This summer has not been entirely what I dreamed it would be. This past Winter, I was able to push myself out of the blistery blues by thinking about the most fun and exciting things I would do with the people that I loved most. But that’s not exactly how things have gone down.
Sometimes life hits like a wave, and to be completely frank, I usually end up crashing into it, rather than riding it. I suppose that is what life is though. For the most part, I’ve resided in a tiny box making sure that I don’t make any mistakes. Yet, I end up making the biggest mistakes ever, many - life-changing.
The beach became a newfound love of mine a couple years ago. The sun, sand, and salt provide healing for the mind, body, and soul. Although, I can’t be on the beach everyday, I allow my mind to wander there every now and again. And when I do, I’m gracefully riding the wave, rather than crashing into it. Surfs up!■
